Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 18, 2026
Location: Wyoming, USA
1. Introduction
Mortmo ("we," "us," or "our") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our mortgage connection platform. By using our service, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information directly from you when you complete our quiz or contact forms. This includes:
Identifiers: Name, email address, and phone number.
Financial Profile Data: Estimated credit score, estimated home value, remaining mortgage balance, and requested cash-out amount.
Life Status Data: Marital status.
Device Data: IP address and browser type (collected automatically for fraud prevention).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data strictly to:
Match you with a vetted, local mortgage partner.
Facilitate the initial introduction/lead transfer.
Prevent fraudulent submissions to our partners.
4. How We Share Your Information (The "Lead Transfer")
Mortmo is a connection platform. When you click "Submit," you are giving us express written consent to share the data points listed in Section 2 with one or more of our vetted mortgage partners.
Sale of Data: We receive compensation from our partners for these introductions.
No Further Control: Once your data is transferred to a Partner, their own privacy policy governs how they use it. Mortmo does not control their internal data retention.
5. Compliance with 2026 Mortgage Laws
In compliance with the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act (HPPA) (effective March 2026):
Mortmo does not sell "trigger leads" based on credit pulls.
All data shared is "first-party" data that you have voluntarily provided via our quiz.
Our partners are required to use this data only to provide you with a bona fide firm offer of credit or related mortgage services.
6. Your Opt-Out Rights
Before Transfer: You can choose not to submit the form at any time.
After Transfer: Because Mortmo does not maintain a "User Account" for you, we cannot "delete" your data from a Partner's system once it has been sent. To stop communications or request data deletion, you must contact the Mortgage Partner directly.
Do Not Call: By submitting your phone number, you are granting us and our partners an exemption from "Do Not Call" registries for a period of 90 days.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect your data during transmission. In accordance with the FTC Safeguards Rule, we limit access to your data only to those employees and partners necessary to fulfill your request.
8. Wyoming Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming. Any disputes regarding data privacy will be handled via the Mandatory Arbitration clause found in our Terms of Service.
